  • Photography: Cassina, Knoll, Magis, Ceccotti, Verzelloni, Moroso and ÁBATON

The chaise longue has become an almost essential design element in the interior decoration of today’s homes. It is a soft seat that has an L-shaped extension to put the legs. Its name comes from French and its literal translation is long chair. The chaise longue has evolved in its design and its aesthetics makes it a must in today’s decorating catalogs.

Any home that wants to give a touch of design to a space should include a chaise longue in it. Within the history of this piece of furniture, the designer Le Corbusier played a fundamental role in 1928 together with two architect friends, with whom he changed the classic image of the chaise longue to become what we know today. A modern and sophisticated element ideal for your home.

The LC4 chaise longue designed in 1928, is currently edited by the Cassina brand. A model with black enameled steel base, and finished in calfskin or cowhide. Its shape is designed for relaxation, where man is the center of everything. Thanks to its design, the LC4 chaise longue has an assured stability from any angle.

Within the field of design and decoration, another name to highlight is Mies Van Der Rohe, who in 1931 created the MR Chaise, a chaise longue that combines luxury and elegance and has become one of the most sought after pieces by collectors around the world. Today this piece is edited by the Knoll brand.

You can see it in our Interior Design Project Casa L.

A model that has created a trend is the Traffic chaise longue, designed by Konstantin Grcic in 2013 for the Magis brand. One feature that sets it apart from the rest is that it has an acrylic stone tray on one of its sides.

The structure of this chaise longe is made of polyester varnished steel and its cushions are upholstered in leather. It is available in different colors. Here you can see it in our Interior Design Project Casa CH.

The Canapo model by Cassina is a chaise longue that can also be used as a rocking chair. Made of solid ash wood, you can choose between different shades. It is a modern and functional design that any room would like to have.

A modern and exclusive model of chaise longe is the DC100 of the Ceccotti brand. It is a chaise longue that brings elegance to the room thanks to its rounded shapes and leather finish.

A chaise longue different from the idea that we have conceived for this type of seat, is the chaise longue Zoe XL of the Verzelloni brand. It is distinguished by its special comfort. It is available in different finishes, upholstered in fabric or leather.

You can see it in the Interior Design Project, Reform in Barrio Salamanca.

A chaise longue with a groundbreaking and modern design, Tropicalia, created by Patricia Urquiola for the Moroso brand, has a cheerful and fun style that mixes bright colors in its braiding, creating geometric shapes.

There is also an indoor version whose braiding is made with leather, adding personality and sophistication to the piece.

As you can see, there are different styles of chaise longue depending on your tastes, needs and the place where we want to place it. The most daring designs are based on models of the first designers, which will always continue to set trends and help to generate new chaise longue to decorate our homes.
