  • Architecture, interior design, landscaping and construction: ÁBATON
The layout of this new building in Madrid is transformed into a story of light and connection. In order to enhance the public spaces, the living room and kitchen take center stage, while a semi-hidden access leads to the more private areas. The kitchen becomes a place of connection, the point where the family gathers and from which the rest of the rooms flow.

A home that flows between indoors and outdoors through the intersection of spaces.

This single-family house comes to life at the intersection of two robust exposed concrete walls, which stand out for their slatted formwork. One of these walls welcomes you from the entrance, creating an outdoor walkway that invites you to stroll between its solidity and a path of cypress trees, while the other separates the kitchen from the living room, extending to a cozy outdoor porch.

From these structural elements, the house unfolds in a series of terraced volumes that give shape to a central courtyard, a living space that promotes interaction between inside and outside. This courtyard becomes the heart of the home, where moments of conviviality occur: from the porch to the living room, from the living room to the dining room, and back outside, creating a fluid dance between spaces. Thus, every corner of the house is connected, offering a dynamic environment that invites you to enjoy outdoor living and the warmth of home.

Open spaces and energy efficiency in a modern home

The construction system of this home is based on an innovative solid wood structure, designed to maximize space and functionality. With 12 cm thick walls, pillars are eliminated, allowing for an open and fluid layout that transforms the home experience. The floor slabs, cleverly designed to cover large spans with a low profile, are integrated without interfering with architectural aesthetics.
Each component is a custom prefabricated piece, produced by numerical control, ensuring precise assembly and exceptional energy efficiency. From the inside, the exposed structural wood on some walls not only adds an attractive visual touch, but also generates a cozy and human feeling, creating an environment that invites warmth and conviviality.

Intimate contact with nature

The result of this single-family home radiates warmth and familiarity, an open and welcoming refuge that integrates perfectly with the surrounding nature. Despite its 750 m², its design scales in a human way, making every corner inviting to be explored and enjoyed.

On the first floor, a series of interconnected spaces unfolds: the living room, the dining room, a functional office, a gym, a study, a library, a bright kitchen, a TV room and a guest bedroom. Each area is designed to foster conviviality and well-being, creating an environment where families can gather and share moments. The upper floor is organized into two distinctive volumes, linked by an elegant walkway that looks out over the courtyard. One of these volumes houses the master bedroom, a sanctuary of tranquility, while the other houses three additional bedrooms, perfect for family or friends. The lower living room deck is transformed into an outdoor patio with porch, extending the connection to the natural surroundings. Finally, the basement becomes a multifunctional space that includes a garage, a utility room and a cinema room, ideal for enjoying moments of leisure with the family. Overall, this house is not only a place to live, but a true home where life unfolds in harmony with nature.
