ÁBATON received the Best of Houzz 2021 badge for Design, given by the platform's community according to the popularity of its work.

In 2021, a year in which the home became the centre of everything for many people, the Houzz community recognised ÁBATON with the Best of Houzz badge in the Design category.

Houzz is an international platform for architecture, interior design and decoration on which millions of people save images of homes they would like to live in. Every year it gives the Best of Houzz badge in the Design category to the professionals whose work has been most saved and shared by its community during the previous year. It is not decided by a jury, but by the accumulated attention of people looking for ideas for their own homes.

The badge recognises the studio as a whole. That year ÁBATON’s work moved between very different scales: renovations of flats with history in central Madrid, single-family houses open to the garden and works such as ARV8, the cross-laminated timber housing building the studio raised on Calle Antonio Rodríguez Villa. All of them share the same search for simple, warm, well-orientated spaces.

The badge recurs throughout ÁBATON’s trajectory: the studio’s Houzz profile gathers the Design badges for 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2025 and 2026. More than an isolated award, it reflects a sustained interest over time in a way of understanding the home.
