Leading Designers Awards 2023: Best Residential Architecture & Interior Design Firm – Spain

LUXlife magazine included ÁBATON in its Leading Designers Awards 2023, in residential architecture and interior design in Spain.

In 2023, the British magazine LUXlife included ÁBATON in its Leading Designers Awards, in the category of Spanish residential architecture and interior design firm. The publication selects the participants and assesses them with its in-house team.

The category describes quite accurately what the studio has done since 1998: houses. ÁBATON designs single-family homes, renovates flats with history in central Madrid and treats interior design and landscape as part of the same project, not as separate chapters. Its founders also set up their own construction company to control the building work.

That continuity between architecture, interior and garden is what the studio’s projects show, from the Comprehensive Renovation in Alcalá to the CH house among holm oaks, and it is in them that its way of working is best understood.

Some of those projects have recognitions of a different kind, with a jury or a verifiable public selection: the Comprehensive Renovation in Alcalá won both the jury and the public award in the apartment category of Architizer’s A+Awards in 2017, and the Comprehensive Renovation in Almagro, a penthouse next to the Retiro, is part of Archilovers’ Best of 2024 selection.
