ASPRIMA-SIMA Award 2008: Best Real Estate Development in New-Build Private Housing, Ábaton Peñascales

Ábaton Peñascales received the 2008 ASPRIMA-SIMA award for the best real estate development in new-build private housing.

In the spring of 2008, during the tenth Madrid Property Fair, the fifth ASPRIMA-SIMA awards were presented. The Madrid Association of Property Developers and the fair convene them every year to recognise developments in the sector for their overall conception, the quality of their execution and their integration into their surroundings. That year the award for the Best Real Estate Development in New-Build Private Housing went to Ábaton Peñascales.

The recognition came at a time when ÁBATON had already decided to control the whole process of its houses: the design, the development and the construction. That decision explains why an award intended for developers also distinguishes a way of making architecture. The magazine of the Madrid Association of Architects attributed the work to José Ignacio Lechón Pérez, architect and partner at ÁBATON.

It was the first of two consecutive awards: in 2009 the same category distinguished Almanzora, in Aravaca.
