Kitchen Design of the Reform in Sagasta I

The kitchen of this integral reform in Sagasta, Madrid, is conceived as a functional space with clear lines, able to dialogue with the original architecture of the house. The intervention is committed to natural light, spatial continuity and a precise materiality that combines contemporaneity and memory.

The kitchen opens to the facade through large original openings, protected by restored carpentry that allow the entry of a constant, filtered light. This natural lighting defines the character of the space and reduces the need for artifice, reinforcing the feeling of spaciousness and visual cleanliness.

A central island organizes daily use and structures the space. It integrates the cooking area and the sink, freeing the perimeter and favoring a fluid circulation. Its design, with clean lines and contained proportions, allows the kitchen to function both as a work space and as a meeting place.

The furniture is resolved with smooth fronts in matte white finish, without visible handles, which reinforces a continuous and orderly image. The worktop, with a compact surface, provides strength and ease of maintenance.

The natural wood flooring, present throughout the house, also enters the kitchen, softening the technical character of the space and linking it to the rest of the house.

This kitchen reinterprets a classic home from contemporary criteria: respect for the existing, functional clarity and durable materials.
