Verner Panton was one of the most prestigious Danish industrial designers of the late 20th century. With a unique way of understanding design and architecture, his works have become true classics.

Verner Panton was born on February 13, 1926 in Denmark. His first contact with the world of design was at the Technical School in Odense. Years later, he studied architecture at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen, where he graduated in the early 1950s. After graduating, he opened his own architecture and design studio in 1955.

It took him very little time to become popular thanks to pieces with a futuristic style unique at the time; all his furniture was based on geometric shapes. One of the most relevant pieces that generated the most controversy a little more than half a century ago were the chairs without legs or backrest. The company in charge of producing his designs was Plus-Linje.

In the early 1960s he began to collaborate assiduously with the Vitra company. It was with them that Verner Panton designed his best-known piece: the Panton Chair. His goal was to create a one-piece chair that would be comfortable for everyone and could be used anywhere.

The Panton Chair was introduced in 1967 and caused a worldwide sensation. Since then, it has received numerous awards. One of the first models of this chair is in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York.

Verner Panton’s designs are recognized worldwide. There are several common characteristics that define all his works. On the one hand, the Dane’s predilection for intense colors. On the other hand, the love he felt for geometric shapes in his pieces. And on the other hand, the exquisite fusion of floors, walls and ceilings to form a unique unity of space.

Panton chair models bring a lot of strength and personality to any space. The chairs maintain the original shape of the Danish designer.

Instead of injection-molded plastic, they are made of rigid polyurethane foam for greater comfort. They are otherwise identical to the original seat. And, on the other hand, a collection of Panton junior chairs specially designed for the comfort of the little ones.
