With a design reminiscent of the iconic Transportable House, in designing this house we converted the spatial concept of the ÁPH80 into a house adapted to its surroundings and the people who live in it, with one more creative twist, by maintaining a changing and versatile concept that adapts to the different stages of life.

The role of the forest

The house is located on a plot bordering a forest on its north facade. When designing this house, the approach from the beginning was to open the house to the south to enhance the brightness of the spaces but enjoy the views of the forest on the opposite facade, from all rooms. The connection with the exterior, the landscaping and the forest views guided the approach from conceptualization to execution.

Designing a house for the future

The house is organized in two proportioned volumes, joined together by a formally differentiated module reminiscent of the materiality of the APH80. The concept of the gabled architecture attempts to recover the icon of the traditional house with a single envelope, achieving a feeling of homogeneous volumes and a cozy home. In tune with the needs of the family, the two volumes were thought of as independent, with the possibility of dividing these two areas into two separate and independent houses, when the owners no longer need such a large house. This projection of the house into the future makes the project a changing and versatile concept that adapts to the needs of the moment.

Construction in CLT

The construction system used is CLT construction, a system that we use in all our projects for its contribution to sustainability and for the excellent structural response of this material. The custom-made prefabricated solid wood pieces offer a perfect assembly and achieve a high energy efficiency for the house.
From the inside, we left some areas of structural wood exposed, achieving a cozy and human feeling.
