In connection with nature

Facing a protected green zone, this house adapts to the orography of the terrain, taking advantage of the slopes to connect each interior space with the surrounding nature. The structure rises high on the hillside, facing south and east to capture the best views of Madrid’s cornice from its terraces.

A bioclimatic and efficient house

The slope of the plot, one of the main challenges of the project, also becomes a bioclimatic tool. A cool courtyard to the north generates a pocket of air that cools the house in summer, while to the south there is a meadow full of vegetation and a turquoise water pool that brings freshness and views.

Open design and free of rigid structures

With closed volumes in cross-laminated timber panels, the spaces dispense with pillars, allowing for an open and flexible design. The structure is organized around a bridging piece that rises above two smaller volumes, creating a north-south passage on the first floor that allows the space to open up completely and merge interior and exterior.

The warmth of details

The first floor houses the daily use spaces and the master bedroom, while upstairs a separate private area is connected by a eucalyptus wood staircase with cantilevered steps. Details such as a natural wood slatted front and white finishes add warmth and lightness, creating an accessible and comfortable home in contact with nature.
