Reviving history with the refurbishment of a 1900 treasure in Sagasta

The Integral Reform in Sagasta was carried out in an impressive building from 1900, for its remodeling we tried to conserve most of the original elements, putting them in value. In addition, the distribution was reconsidered in order to adapt it to the possible current uses, thus making the most of the building’s resources.

From labyrinth to light with the transformation of spaces in the heart of the home

Originally, the house was very compartmentalized, with numerous small rooms that communicated through a long curved corridor. The intention of the reform of this floor was to generate more open spaces and link areas of compatible uses, allowing a visual connection and route around the house. The main protagonist of this integral reform is the hall, it generated a very open entrance with passage to the living room and separated from the kitchen by a sliding door.

The art of conservation in the renovation of an apartment

In order to preserve the original, the sliding door that was previously located in another part of the house was recovered and restored. Through a long curved corridor, the public area was divided from the private area, giving access to the latter through a hidden door. At the back of the house is a small living room that serves as a distributor for the three bedrooms. As was done with the sliding door, the original melis pine wood of the floor was restored, allowing the original floor to be preserved as far as possible; the same is true of some rooms in the apartment. The original hydraulic floor was preserved, merging it with Mortex, which unifies all the private spaces and bathrooms. Following the same line, ABATON restored the moldings, doors and other precious antique elements to give this integral reform of personality without departing from the original character of the house.
