Custom fireplace design
At ÁBATON we conceive fireplaces as an essential part of the architecture of the home. Custom-designed, they are integrated into each project as elements that articulate the space, providing balance, proportion and warmth.
More than a decorative element, they are focal points that dialogue with the materials, light and scale of the project. Each one is designed according to its context and the way of living of those who enjoy it.
Free-standing chimneys as a spatial boundary
In our projects it is common to find fireplaces as a free-standing element that articulates the public areas of the house. With the objective of eliminating very marked limits in the space, but maintaining a minimum differentiation – thus achieving spaces with a more human scale and more welcoming – this fireplace design marks the boundary between spaces and generates points of union around it.
Suspended fireplaces: uniqueness and versatility
Suspended fireplaces are an element that give personality and character to spaces. Their sculptural presence transcends the traditional function to become an architectural element that organizes and gives meaning to the whole. As they are suspended, they free the floor and allow a continuous reading of the space, providing amplitude and visual fluidity.
Thanks to their design, some models can rotate 360º, orienting the fire and the meeting area. In addition, they are also an ideal choice for outdoor spaces.
Classic chimneys: recovering their architectural value
In the rehabilitation of old buildings, the original fireplaces become key pieces of the project. At ÁBATON we work to preserve their character and reinterpret them from a modern point of view, integrating them into renovated spaces that combine history and contemporaneity.
With a more traditional concept, we reinterpret the design taking it to its essence. As an element that is diluted in space, it continues to mark distribution and meeting points, with a contemporary and minimalist style.
