Project AL, Finca del Encinar
- ÁBATON Architecture and Interior Design
From Barn to Country House
Located in a privileged setting in the mountains, the project
focused on creating a country inn surrounded by nature but equipped with
modern amenities. A country house serving as a
retreat where the family can unwind.
La rehabilitación de la Finca del Encinar, un antiguo establo para ovejas, se centró en recuperar los elementos de la arquitectura original y mantener la esencia de las construcciones autóctonas.
The structure and facades were restored to mimic the original volume and materials, preserving their rural character through the use of local materials and materials salvaged from old buildings in the area.
This home is located in the Sierra de Gata and is a renovation project that builds on the area’s existing architecture and respects the original layout and structural design.
Located in a prime spot in the mountains, the project focused on creating a lodge surrounded by nature that offers modern amenities.
The structure and facades were rehabilitated imitating the volumetry
and original materials, preserving its rural essence with the use of
native materials and recovered from old constructions
of the territory.
To convert this old building into a single-family villa, the structure was expanded to create a second floor that provides the best views of the master bedroom and bathroom, while separating these spaces from the rest for greater privacy.
One of the original volumes houses the common areas—the dining room, living room, and kitchen—as a continuous, completely open space facing the outdoors, with views of the pool and the oak grove. A freestanding fireplace defines the spaces without interrupting the visual continuity throughout the entire layout.
