Country House LS
Located in an estate of more than thirty hectares, framed in a meadow of wonderful oaks and an undergrowth of broom, rockroses and hawthorns, is located the reform of a country house that recovers its original life. The complete project includes the rehabilitation of several buildings in the area; the main house, a caretaker’s house, the stables and a dovecote.
A country house for the family
The main objective was to create a spacious and illuminated house that would encourage the connection between the family. To this end, a large living room connected to the kitchen is generated, enhancing the connection from the different spaces, with the possibility of dividing them through a sliding door.
The master bedroom is proposed as a protagonist and versatile space for the couple; the space is transformed into a dressing room, a bathtub next to the window and projects a staircase to an attic office. The space is arranged to offer a high functionality that is both cozy and private.
Recovering the essence
The intervention recovers the original granite stone walls, generating large openings to give the house its ABATON character. The interior spaces are linked to the exterior environment creating a dialogue between architecture and nature and generating a contrast between the materiality of the interior and exterior of the house.
The protagonism of a courtyard between the buildings is recovered, presided over by a large olive tree that centralizes the spaces.
