There are spaces that seem to be taken out of movies, such as Lofts, often protagonists of the same, with those dreamy interiors. Lofts are characterized for being diaphanous spaces with practically no spatial division between the different rooms of the house.
If you live in one of these spaces or are planning to do so, we are going to give you some ideas to furnish them to make the most of space, light and ultimately get a perfect result.
One of the main problems you will encounter when decorating a loft, whether large or small, is that since it is a different space than a traditional home, it is a little more complicated to know how to make the most of the available space and what furniture to choose.
However, a loft is an ideal place to give free rein to eclecticism. The selection of pieces of different decorative styles and origins in the same room enhances its originality, warmth and coziness. On the other hand, the choice of neutral colors will contribute to give a feeling of greater spaciousness and brightness if it is a small loft.
However, to decorate a large loft, we must pay more attention to the division of space, to make it more functional, giving it a cozier look. To do this, we can use screens, Japanese or Chinese panels, even shelves to separate spaces.
One of the advantages of living in a loft, is that this type of building allows us to leave construction elements in sight, such as columns. In our interior design project in floor A-A you can see an example, besides giving it a very industrial touch along with the exposed concrete finish of the walls, it helped us to generate that feeling of separation that we needed.
In addition, as it is a first floor loft, we chose to link the interior spaces with the garden through large windows to give greater connection to the whole and flood all its corners with light.
If it is the living room you can use the backs of the sofas choosing straight lines designs to define the space. In our R-N attic project you have a good example, that way you will create a cozy place without the need to fill the space with unnecessary elements. Place the tall vertical furniture in the corners and leave the center of the room for low furniture such as the sofa, armchairs, coffee table and chairs.
If you still have doubts when choosing the most appropriate furniture for the decoration of your home, whether it is a loft, an apartment, a house, etc., at ABATON we have a department specialized in Interior Design Projects.
