The renovation encompassed 300 square meters where the intention was to avoid the existing walls leaving a clearer and open space. We enhaced the natural light and used steel and glass partitions making them work as “membranes”, arranging the space rather than dividing it. The original friezes and wooden coffered ceilings were preserved but were all veiled in white to contribute to the space effect we were looking for. We also kept and recovered most of the original wood flooring and hidraulic tiles in the areas it was possible.
We intended to preserve the building’s essence but reorganizing the space and materials for the actual uses.
