  • Architecture and construction: ÁBATON

Vision of continuity and cohesion

In 2009, CVNE set out to expand its facilities to raise the quality of its wines and decided to rely on ABATON to give an integral and cohesive image to its new space. The expansion reached more than 16,000 m² and covers approximately 127,500 m³, with a series of phases and architectural details that have transformed the winery’s landscape.

A design that breathes innovation

For the design of the CVNE cellars, the team analyzed and understood the winemaking process, proposing a phased expansion project, where each building acts as a container that expresses its function. The simplicity of the industrial geometries was combined with a modern and innovative language, creating a continuous “skin” that unifies walls and ceilings, maintaining stable temperatures and giving the whole a neutral and contemporary aesthetic.

Functional architecture

To achieve a seamless integration between the CVNE warehouses and the existing buildings, “filters” were used: spaces that connect the different areas. These filters acquire varied materials depending on their location, from shiny metallic finishes in the new buildings to matte concrete to harmonize with the original buildings.

Cutting-edge elements

The expansion of the CVNE wineries for 10 years

As additional elements, two replicas of the ÁPH80 Transportable House were incorporated for specific functions: access control and wine quality control at harvest time. Between 2009 and 2019, the CVNE winery project was completed in several phases, with expansions in production, storage, and office buildings, as well as the restoration of the historic “Pieles” building.
